Jurojin – The Living Measure Of Time

Releasedate: 11-03-2011; Label: Majestic Elder Recordings
By: Sabine van Gameren

The British formation Jurojin has been started in 2008. The concept was simple. Five musicians of different backgrounds to create something new and “The Living Measure Of Time” is the result of it.

Interesting concept, bringing alternative rock music with various influences. The band seem quite world wise giving the impression of enjoying world music of bands as Íon as much as their enjoy the catchy stuff of bands like Shinedown and Seether and found their own way of combining this. You get confronted with a pack of riffs in this release that may surprise you in the most positive way you can get it. The guys have their skills on hands and know perfectly how to mix that in the music without making it a collection of showcasing musicians. All the songs on the album come with variance. Some songs are powerful and some are just more relaxed with percussion to drive it all, bringing you into a totally different style of music. Vocal wise you can enjoy the sound of front man James Alper who has pleasant voice to listen to.
A gorgeous album, wonderful songs that are easy to listen to, with the only remark that the album might be too short (you can keep on listening to this for hours!). This may bring up the expectation for the future, we expect to hear a lot more of them soon.
