Four and a half years ago, ZIN – a Band from Leipzig – started to inspire their audience with a danceable mix of Groove, Elektro and Indie. In 2006 ZIN were the local support of Phillip Boa and the Voodooclub. One year later, in 2007, they played together with Polarkreis 18 on the stage of the Radio Sputnik Festival and they became band of the month, voted by the listeners of MDR Radio Sputnik. In 2008 ZIN performed at the Soccer Event of Radio Fritz (RBB) and within the same year their first video clip “No Fakes and Fears” became video clip of the week on Myspace. The “Wave-Gotik-Treffen” in 2009 was inspiring for the band as well as for the audience, because ZIN played in front of a couple of thousand people. One year later they confidentely won the Amphi New Talents Challenge. As a result they not only brought in a respectable donation for the registered association Dunkelziffer, with the success at the Challenge they also were the band to open the Amphi Festival 2010 in Cologne.
Now they have released their second album called “The Definition”. The intro reminds a little of an acoustic piece of Placebo. The rest of the album not as much but here and there you can still see some influences. Zin’s new album “The Definition” is an electro rock album with a catchy rhythm that you can’t miss yet not as strong as you have it in EBM or industrial music. Zin’s music is very melodic instead, almost hypnotizing. Somehow you can also catch some medieval influences in their music. Besides the first track “White Peaches”, “Mondnacht” also includes some great piano playing. Get the new album by Zin now and let “The Definition” captivate and hypnotize you.
