Scatterface is an artist from Germany. Having a variety of influences he came to the release “2020” which is available now.

To give you any idea of what Scatterface is about it not too easy. At the first time listening to this release I thought I was given a sampler. The songs do not have a very strong connection that links the whole together. Sometimes full electro, towards Industrial. Then you feel like some Hard Rock is there and when going further a whole lot of different genres pass by. Confusing in a way, it appears more like a personal play list from someone that likes to listen to a diversity of music.

Turns out that is exactly how it is advertised in the information given with the release. It has its pro’s. For example the fact that there is a wild variety in the songs. But we have seen artists that execute this concept a bit better. Still having something that ties the songs together is giving the album more clarity. But then again, this album is the debut album of Scatterface, so it could probably also be seen as an artist which is still searching for the identity of himself, something that includes all these influences and gives it a unique and solid face throughout the whole album. Let’s see when “2021” sees light if that search has progressed.
