Kim Wilde is an English pop singer, author and television presenter. She burst onto the music scene in 1981 with the new wave classic “Kids in America”, which hit number two in the UK Singles Chart. Major U.S. success eluded her until 1987, when she topped the charts with her version of The Supremes’ hit “You Keep Me Hangin’ On”. Since 1998, Wilde had an alternative career as a gardener, whilst still being active in music. “Come Out And Play”, her newest release, is Kim Wilde’s eleventh studio album.
The beginning of the album sounds a lot like the 80s pop and from then on the album is swinging back and forth between modern pop and 80s pop. If you listen close you can find 80s pop elements such as the synthesizer in almost every song though. The album “Come Out And Play” is full of catchy party music spreading a whole lot of happiness and good moods as well as a lot of energy. “Love Conquers All” is a very slow and emotional song. “Hey You” reminds of “Personal Jesus”. “Loving You More” begins with an acoustic guitar and “Jessica” is a very deep and awesome song. Kim Wilde has a pure and strong voice and she knows how to place it right. From ass kicking to totally soft, she does it all. “Come Out And Play” is a wonderful hit album of our 80s pop queen. It is good to have her back!
