Bluesy formation Orions Belte has their background in Norway. They were formed in the year 2016 and started working on a debut album. It is called “Mint” and is available now.
The music is quite calm, if you need to find something for a lazy Sunday afternoon, “Mint” might be something you want to try. The stress of the music lays on the instrumentals. Guitars are dragging you into it, they lead it all and define the sound of the band. Smokey, but never going over the top with it. A relaxed feel is onto it. Listen to a track like “Joe Frazier’ in which they take their time to get to the point, over six minutes on the counter and regardless its slow paced feel you have the guitars that keep you listening. Not the revolutionary sound, but well-thought. Thought out to the second, a smart timing keeps you at it.
The song also has vocals, which is a rare thing. Not any needed and you don’t really hear a lot of them throughout this release. So, sometimes it may be on the edge of too minimalistic. Some might walk away from it, while other enjoy the lay back sound.
For a debut the album is interesting. The guys show to have taken their time to think it through. Some refinement could be there, trying to tease your attention span just that bit more, more vibrance maybe. But that will be something for them to figure out for a follow up release.
