[schema type=”review” name=”Project Silence – Infinity” description=”Label: Slipstream Records” author=”Sabine van Gameren” pubdate=”2018-09-28″ ]Project Silence is a Finnish formation making Industrial. They formed in 2008 and released their album “424” some years later. Anno 2018 they release their latest called: “Infinity”.
Compared with the material that we heard before by this band we can say this is probably the most aggressive feel we got from them. But as they say right away: ‘we will rise’. The band is on a mission and this statement shows their ambitions.
No, their melodic side is not forgotten, the band just twists the stress a bit. Results structured sound, it makes it clear what to expect as the songs all have this same feel to them.
Standing out on this release is the song “ Pulse” which goes from a fast paced extreme to a slower draging part and right back, playing with your feel. You are waiting for that moment to live the energy and when it comes to you you are rewarded. It follows up with “Anthropophagite” which falls quite in line with what is before.
Closer “Day of Reckoning” is maybe that one song that keeps you hanging a bit too long, you ay want it to throw out all energy at once now, but that is not quite happening, it is a more melodic song. Feels like there should have been more after this song.
Altogether it is a fine release from these guys. They have expanded on what was done before and created a release that is in one line, the songs are not too far from one other while it still carries enough diversity. Maybe a bit too short, or too long if seen as an EP. Simply say: Seven tracks to enjoy. Covers it all.
