Formed in 2003 the brothers Calabrese have quickly made their mark on the world — bite marks to be exact. “We are a very lucky band, our fans are amazing and I think selling our souls has really paid off.” -Jimmy Calabrese. Fueled by the cult success of “13 HALLOWEENS” and “THE TRAVELING VAMPIRE SHOW” CALABRESE plans to unleash Hell in 2010. With their new album “THEY CALL US DEATH” they made a good start.
When listening to this album you feel like sucked into a horror movie or a creep show. I listened to it for the first time in my car, so I felt like in a drive-in movie, close to creepy woods in the middle of the night, even though the sun was shining bright and it was day as I listened to it. The intro reminds of old TV speakers as well. The music itself does not let go of that impression or the time you feel sucked into. Fast and thriving melodies with hauling lyrics get you in the mood of Halloween and scaring little kids. You want to move along, rock along, dance along and of course sing along. The album layout is very artistic and Horror Show like as well. Calabrese created a new cult album with “THEY CALL US DEATH”. Great artwork, awesome songs… Horror rock at its finest crawls up your spine and neck, keeping you frightened twelve songs long. You are even too frightened to switch off the player as one might think the twelfth song might have ended, but it hasn’t. Scared as you are you will sit there and listen till the very end and do as you’re told.
