Six Gallery is an American formation that started in 2005. They released their debut album “Breakthoughs In Modern Art” in 2009, but now it got released worldwide.
The sound that these five guys maintain is instantly reminding me to a combination of Lapko and Rubik, mellow and modest. As the album title may suspect the music is very artificial is its projection. Guitars are the main attraction, building up the tension constantly and driving the whole music. There is a bit of a jazzy undertone in it, but overall it is a typical act that would fit in with the various indie acts that are around nowadays. Vocally it never really comes to an outburst in which the vocals breakthrough back upped by all instruments and that was actually something that lies in expectation and that is what you are waiting for. The guitars come to climaxes each song, but unfortunately they leave the rest of the band behind, which is a pity. Nevertheless the music is good to listen and inspiring to listen to. It’s just that the band could show more passion and fire to spice this up and make the listener feel their intention within.
