[schema type=”review” name=”Red Raven – Chapter two: Digithell” description=”Label: Fastball Music” author=”Sabine van Gameren” pubdate=”2017-10-06″ ]Hardrock formation Red Raven released their debut album in 2014. This year they return with a new release. “Chapter Two: Digithell”
The album has an easy start, an intro warms you up for what’s ahead and after that first intro you get some steady rock songs. Taken from the sorrows of daily life on a mondial scale the band addresses us and often makes us think of the reality. A message not everyone can bring across, but certainly does when Red Raven gives it a go. And when bringing it with the right vehemence certainly helps. The band has given some good thoughts about these compositions, they seem smartly constructed and with surprises in steady drums, interesting riffs and catchiness here and there the guys deliver us a product that you will enjoy for the skills. Also, the album brings us variation. Some songs are quite uptempo, but the band slows it down when needed, creating an interesting playfield throughout.
So to say, this second release of Red Raven is an interesting one. It surely pays off to give it a try and may find yourself surprised. They are not the first to address these themes, but they certainly did it well.
