Mork is a Norwegian project by Thomas Eriksen making Black Metal. It started in 2004 and anno 2017 we are having the third full length album in front of us. It is called “Eremittens Dal” and is available now.
Our first Mork experience was a live one and it fell well, so seeking this album is of our interest. And the album is pleasing us just as well. The music is in direction of Darkthrone with all its cold and evilness. The atmospheric part is well presented, the album has the tendency to drag you into the music, feeling it while hearing it. A quality not all bands out there achieve.
Despite it being a one man project, you could hear the quality in all parts of it, whether it are the guitars that drive a song or the vocals that are not only giving a dark tone over the already dark black darkness that the instrumental part bring us.
Darksome atmospheres combined with a quality package make this one of the albums that stick out far above the average we receive. A pleasant release that we sure see mentioned at the end of the year in the inevitable year lists.
