Martyr – You Are Next

It is already 5 years ago that Martyr came with an album but this year we get to hear a new full length from their hands. The Heavy Metal band releases “You Are Next” now.

It is five years since the last one, but the band have thought big with the release of this album. Not only did they seem to have thought everything through, they invited a bunch of guest singers a took it all a step further than ever before. It is a bit away from its predecessor “Circle of Eight” which you mainly feel in the way they make their choices: a bit pig-headed minded. Not everything should go as you would expect and that makes that “You Are Next” is often surprising and refreshing.

One of the songs that stands out in the release is “Monsters”. It has besides the interesting riffing a quite catchy feel over it. A song with a lot of attitude and showcases them well. On a track like “Souls Breathe” the band goes deep and wild. It has lot of power and the diversity in the vocals keep you listening with care.

Altogether “You Are Next” is a fine release. It has diversity and keeps you listening. With the band’s live reputation known these songs will not take long before finding their ways to the crowds.
