The TiPS is a reggae band from Düsseldorf, Germany. Founded a couple years back, the trio has found their very own sound. Combining reggae with punk, with a major focus on reggae though. This is now their third studio album and goes by the name of “Twist’n’Turn”.
The opening track “Birds In Trees” features Benji Webbe, the singer of the UK band Skindred. Easy going and smooth, The TiPS guide you through their album. Mellow music with serious lyrics about politics, refugees and war, get you thinking. No pressure, just saying. The TiPS spread a relaxing vibe, leaving you with your thoughts but keep you from getting lost in them. Some songs are faster, some are slower. Some carry a punk spirit, others are just plain reggae songs. If you didn’t know these guys are Germans and a white trio that you instantly put into the punk direction, you would probably think of Jamaicans, a dark skinned trio or guys with dreadlocks. Looks are deceiving, so is their sound.
“Twist’n’Turn” comes with twelve tracks and keeps you busy for at least forty-five minutes. But you will press play on this record over and over again. So put on your comfy clothes and listen to the brand new album by The TiPS. “Twist’n’Turn” is out now.
