Zanthropya EX is a German formation that says to make ‘Misanthropic Death’. They release a new EP called “Neuer Gott”.
While they choose to use the German language they limit their options a bit. Perhaps the guys enjoy to stick around the GAS mainly, but an English approach would have given them some more international allure. The words now seem to lose its strength and that is breaking down to what they want to put down as an atmosphere of ‘misanthropic’. The instrumental side of this band is the stronger part of the band. They put down some good riffage, the guys seem to be secure about what they want to sound like and that makes it a bit more interesting to listen to. In the EP they create a bit of a break with the track “Er.Wache” which is only instrumental and give a melodic touch to the release. At odd places in the album you suddenly hear that coming in as well. After that we are back to what we got to know these guys from and it becomes more clear that the guys have pulled their drummer up to a quite dominant place in their sound. More taking a spot than we often see and that gives the guys a strong body.
“Neuer Gott” is not an album for everyone. The vocals are really a keyfactor in deciding whether this will be a happy addition or one that you are more likely to hide in a corner.
