A Friday night out in a medium sized club in Weinheim, Germany brought out quite some people it seems. Almost sold out house and a more than crowded venue made it hard to get in and get a got spot. No wonder. Because some brilliant bands were playing tonight: Man With A Mission, MxPx and Zebrahead.

“ManWithAMission" All bands were on the road with brand new releases, some even together. So for example Man With A Mission and Zebrahead: These two bands share a split EP. And, amongst all the people that came out tonight, you could find fans of each band. There were some with shirts of Man With A Mission, some with hoodies by MxPx and of course quite some people wearing Zebrahead merchandise.

The Japanese alternative rock band Man With A Mission began the night. Crowding the little stage they raise the temperature in the venue by quite some degrees. The Japanese band wore bear masks and had their faces painted black underneath. The audience loved the masks and the music the guys played: Loud music you can move along to, and have fun to. For about forty minutes the guys entertained the audience and heated them up quite a bit. The Japanese played some of their newest songs, as well as a Nirvana cover to which each and every one in the Cafe Central sang along. Ali and Matty, the singers of Zebrahead joined on stage for two songs to perform some of their collaborations.

MxPx MxPx was up next. MxPx is an American punk rock band from Washington. Their music was thriving and got a circle pit going. Everyone was dancing along to the thriving melodies of the Americans. One of the band members of the band was fluent in German. So he gave some instructions for singing and clapping along to a few songs. The audience was impressed and awarded the band with loud cheering.

Playing for about fifty minutes, the guys played old and new hits. The audience even tried to wish for a couple songs. The guys of MxPx were telling some stories about a few songs, some stories about their past as band and individuals, relating to the audience. And it worked well. The audience was singing and shouting along to the music, mashing and rocking, the audience had a blast. And so did the band. Not standing still for even a second, the band jumped around on stage, using up the entire space on stage. For one of the last songs, MxPx got some female fans up on stage to dance and sing with them. What a blast.

Zebrahead was up last. The American rock band has just released a brand new album “Walk The Plank”. This being a sea term that pirates used, Zebrahead’s crew was dressed as pirates. The Californians had a good mix of old and new songs on their setlist. Starting out with a couple new songs before singing their hits, they had the audience on their side from the first minute on. Everyone was singing and dancing along, cheering and shouting. Hailing the band. There was even someone dressed as a Zebra in the audience. Zebrahead
The venue has heated up quite a lot. Everyone was soaked in sweat and the humidity was so high, it was close to begin dripping from the ceiling. And Zebrahead just kept going. With a bar on stage, they had the drinks coming. The guys even sang an ode to beer. that everyone joined in singing, raising their glasses. For another song, the guys asked everyone in the audience to kneel down for the beginning of a song. Counting to three before everyone jumped up to rock the house. It was an intense night with three amazing bands you would instantly fall in love with, if you are not a fan already. It felt like one big family that had a big party.
