Dragonheart is a Powermetal formation from Brazil. They started back in 1997 and this year they are ready to release their fourth full length album. It is called “The Battle Sanctuary” and it is out now.
Dragonheart brings us Powermetal as it should be. It’s full of clichés and things you have heard at least a thousand times before, but with that being said it would be hard enough to find an act that stands above that. What we hear when listening the album is the raw edged vocals in there to give the whole some body. These are quite a matter of Like it or hate it. If you don’t like these so much you will dismiss the album before it reaches halfway. It is an element that gives the band some personality though.
The tracklist is surprisingly varied. From the fast typical power metal tracks to slower moments where they build up tension and give some attention to a solo to come out pleasantly without it being over the top. A moderation that opens up the fanrange for the band and give them the opportunity to show diversity.
“The Battle Sanctuary” is an album that may come with the needed clichés but sets itself apart by a diversity that not all bands bring into an album. Worth to give it a try.
