Burntfield is a Helsinki based formation making Melodic Rock. They recently released an EP called “Cold Heat”.
Four songs of these guys from Finland to have a look at. That may be a bit short as to the music they make is something you may want to dig in deeper if you can. The melody is leading often, but their sound comes also with a certain sadness over it. That atmosphere is quite relevant for the whole EP as it is a major part of the Burntfield experience.
What the guys could have a look at is the way they implement their vocals. Sometimes maybe the tempo could be changed for a higher impact and maybe not always the most optimal way of bringing it is chosen. Do they need some more power, yes in some parts they could really use that to highlight it and give it that extra edge that makes it more catchy. More direct, in your face. What we do like is the way they used the backing vocals to give it more dynamic, because that really enlightens it and seems much needed.
Altogether it is a release of a band that knows very well what they want, but is looking still on how this could be created best. When they brining in some more dynamic, some more contrast in power than they are really miles on their road. A good start, the basics are there, time for them to go expand on it.
