The Technical Death Metal formation Nile started back in 1993. Over more than 20 years they made a whole lot of music, with now eight full length albums on their name. “What Should Not Be Unearthed” being their latest.
At the previous release the band caricatured themselves a bit which resulted in a lot of fans not being completely happy with their album, so would they stick with their chosen path or are they returning to what we know the band for? Well that is certainly the case, they did return to what they are known for but maybe that was taken a bit too literally as the album is not even refreshing within their own discography. Sounds like someone who is never satisfied, but the reality hits you right from the start. “Call To Destruction”, the first track at the album is giving you exactly what you heard before. Somewhere halfway you tend to think that the guys are seeking something from each period and bring it together in one album, but yet release as a new album. What speaks for them is that these previous albums where quite satisfying so to say.
Ok, so simply said “What Should Not Be Unearthed” is giving the fans more of what they like. It is not going to be something new, but will be in better taste than the previous one.
