Outre is a Black Metal band from Poland. The guys formed in 2012 and about a year later an EP and a Split got out. Now the band returns with a debut full length album called: “Ghost Chants”.
Outre delivers a rather thick sound, at first quite atmospherical but then leaning more towards a more traditional sound. The band has a solid lineup producing this sound that many may wish for. All elements are quite present, but what stands out a lot are the vocals. Brought with an intense precision and full power they add a great deal to the atmospherical part of this release. But without a strong instrumental backing the whole would not mean a thing, the drums as present as the riffs that come forth from these Polish guys. Here and there you may find references to some other bands but it seems like Outre is more focused on bringing out a story of their own.
The seven chants on this release are passing by faster than you realize. Are the “Ghost Chants” running out? No we don’t think so. It feels like much more is yet to come, an unfinished story. We would certainly not mind receiving another set of chants from Poland as this one pleased us very well.
