Ribozyme is a Norwegian hard rock band formed in 1998. It features progressive drum beats, emotionally strong guitars and an ever-changing vocal style. It has been classified as dark, but not Gothic; angry, but not violent; sad, but not tearful, not hard, but still heavy.
It has been three years since the release of Ribozyme’s “Presenting the Problem”, the band’s first release on Indie Recordings. They have now released a new album which is called “Grinding Tunes”. Although it includes only nine tracks it has a total album duration of almost fifty minutes. During this time Ribozyme are walking across genres. From hard and heavy to slow and melancholic, stopping by electronic parts and melodic indie pop. Sometimes even within a song. Experimenting with styles leaves you breathless. No matter which direction Ribozyme wander on “Grinding Tunes”, it sounds brilliant. A beautiful album that does not get boring. The rhythm changes within the songs, the perfectly fit vocals and the samples add up perfectly with the guitars, bass and drums to create a whole new sound that is grand and impressive. “Grinding Tunes” by the Norwegian Ribozyme is a must have for all lovers of good music. So go check it out now.
