Mind Abduction is a Progressive Metal act from Finland. They have started in 2003 and released just some demo’s. Until around 2013 the band was not that active but some more live shows were done from that moment on. In 2014 the band released a digital album called “Monolith”.
To find out more about them, they refer to their facebook page, coming there there is a ridiculously low amount of likes to be seen. As we speak, 43. I strongly object to that as when playing the songs on this release you would expect a whole lot more people would have found their way to these guys. Or maybe we could speak of that undiscovered treasure then?
The band makes Progressive Metal with well-thought structures. Each song has a clear beginning and a direction which makes that the songs are listening easy. That said, the band lays enough complexity in it to keep you interested. The guitars are often quite upfront where you may have to wait a bit for the vocals to reach you with a similar impact, but when the rest of the band steps it down in intensity you hear vocalist Tuomas putting a bit unexpected touch to it. Refreshing it is.
The band gives us eight tracks to listen to, but it tastes like more. An album that has a certain catchiness and sticks in mind. Time to have them climb out of their shell and show themselves to the world a little more!
