The Finnish band Hooded Menace formed in 2007. The band made some name by now and played festivals Like Tuska Open Air. At the end of 2014 we are receiving a compilation album of the band called “Gloom Immemorial”.
The band released a bunch of splits, EP’s and some 7”’s. Of course the collectors have found them all but it justifies for a compilation release when many releases have seen light. On the release we can find tracks that have been on a split with Asphyx for example. But also one to notice is the track “Instruments of Eternal Damnation” that they have put on a split with Horse Lattitudes before.
Interesting to see is the songs on this release are diverse. It is obvious the band has given their sound a different twist through the years and with these tracks now mixed up you find the obvious changes easily. Not much of surprise knowing there are four different line-ups in this release.
A historical piece, so to say. A release that those who discovered the band later will appreciate for them being able to have this in their collection. When we can expect new material from these guys is yet unknown.
