Caviare Days – Caviare Days

Releasedate: 15-10-2013; Label: Label259

Caviare Days is a Psychedelic Rock formation from Sweden. The band is releasing their debut album “Caviare Days” this year.

Psychedelic Rock becomes more and more in a revival, especially in the north of Europe. Were it acts like Seremonia and Jess & The Ancient Ones that surprised us earlier this year and also in 2012 we now get this release by Caviare Days on our desk. A difference is that these Swedes bring the whole a bit lighter. A lot more approachable as it seems. Abba gets mentioned in the info, but perhaps it is a bit short-sighted to compare it to them. The influences of the past are there, obviously, but it has also some more modern elements, an indie vibe. As if they studied the indie rock and took some of that into it too. That makes also that the music has a bit more vibrant edge to it. Psychedelic with a little extra.
The band also made sure there is plenty of variety in the album, which speaks for them also. The songs are not too much alike which keeps it interesting where it otherwise would have been easy to lose your interest with this quite calm music. Most remarkable song of the release must be “Speed of Sound” which flows easily and sticks in mind easily.
Overall it is a fine debut from the Swedes, recommended!
