“Splinter (Songs from a broken mind)” is the 17th studio album by the British musician Gary Numan as solo artist. The record released on 14 October 2013 via “Cooking Vinyl”.

The album is the result of soul tearing for seven years. The receipt of new Gary Numan’s album is deadly simple, just synthetize your pain and add heavy guitar accent. Cure from depression for Numan was moving from UK to USA, so you can change your life whenever you want. Despite of the facy the main theme of the “Splinter Songs from a broken mind)” is depression, I doubt that this album is depressive, I would describe this record as passive, aggressive and pathetic at the same time. Some tracks are just excellent. “Love hurt bleed”, for instance. The most melodic and harmonic track with simplest lyrics, what could be better in the world of commercial electronic music. I’d like to mention “Here in the black” with unusual voice accompaniment, hissing and dark. “The lost” track is one of the key track with bright piano arpeggios and some oriental spices. The last mention track is “I am dust” and its pressing synth invasion, really kick-ass start.

Highly recommendation for electronic and industry lovers who missed something really worth.
