The Mission – The Brightest Light

Releasedate: 20-09-2013; Label: Oblivion / SPV
By: Nina Mende

The Mission is a gothic rock band formed in 1986 by former members of The Sisters of Mercy. After almost twenty-seven years of band history and twelve studio album here is the latest full length release of the UK legend “The Brightest Light”.

With the title “The Brightest Light” the cover is mainly black with a little round light in the upper middle with the name and title right next to it. The new album comes with eleven tracks. With a total duration of an hour you can tell that the songs are quite long. Which is good. This album is not as dark as some of the previous but has more of a classic rock sound. With quite some acoustic and country instruments this album is very calm and easy going. There are still quite some epic guitar riffs on the album. The track titles on this album are quite long. Each song is telling a story, mostly about a girl or a lost love. This album is epic. If you are a fan of amazing rock music make sure to check out this album. And don’t miss The Mission live when they hit your town. The new The Mission album “The Brightest Light” is out now.
