We Butter the Bread with Butter is a German Deathcore band from Germany. The group was founded in 2007 by Marcel Neumann and about a year later theor first album was out. Anno 2013 the band is ready for the release of their fourth full length album called: “Goldkinder”.
As seen on Tuska 2013, the band appear to work very well as a team which makes the curiosity for this release even larger. The band uses a lot of electronic elements that give their sound a bit of a touch of Modern Death Metal, the catchiness and the fact that it is bringing the vehemence in a less priority level giving the band a wider audience. Nothing wrong with fetching the fans of different styles of music and these guys are knowing well how to build up their brand. “Goldkinder” shows an hyperactive sound, but very controlled. It never breaks out of order, the album is very well thought. Seems like the band has spent a lot of time in thinking it through as the songs are all a bit polished. Maybe a little bit of rawness, the experimenting would have suited them as well, but it does not bother too much that the guys have cleaned it all up. Perhaps a safe release, but the tracks work very well. Most standing out is the track “Fall” because it comes with very intense moments while the tempo is relatively low.
A good release from these Germans, here and there may be a bit too much production on it but it shows that the band have spent plenty of time into thinking it through.
