Releasedate: 09-07-2013; Label: HELLS HEADBANGERS

Danish formation Witch Cross was mostly active in the 80’s but except for one full length only came with a bunch of small releases. In 2011 the band re-united and last year performed at the Heavy Metal Maniacs festival in The Netherlands. This year the band returns with a new full length album “Axe To Grind”.
Where in their performance last year it took a bit before the music started to make an impact, the release the band is bringing to the world has a clearly different view on that. Right from the start, spot on. Catchiness is reigning through the whole album. Yet it has enough vehemence to give it some good spicy touch. In the songs self as well as in the production you can see that the band has not been stuck in the past but lived along to 2013. The band is not just giving you something that could have been made back then, but has a modern approach of bringing their own sound. Refreshing and it obviously worked as the band created a sound that works very well for them and is in good balance.
“Axe To Grind” is a great release that will not only please the traditional fans of this genre but also will be on the likings of the new generation Heavy Metal fans.
