Nergard is a Melodic Metal project from Norway. The man behind it is Andreas Nergard, who collected a whole lot of vocalists to join in as well as some guitarists to play a solo. An EP came out in 2011 but anno 2013 it is time for a debut full length release called: “Memorial For A Wish”.

While having quite some names on board this project is simply setting a whole concept for you. A story, a musical perhaps about a guy that got arrested for a crime he did not commit and all what comes after that when he gets released 20 years later. A heavy story that is told, bringing you some feelings of sympathy for the man. That simply says that the story is well told and while the different vocalists here and there make it a bit hard to follow the story at first time listening you will get along a lot easier the next time. If you listen to the way it is composed, the concept is upfront, you might have be referenced to something that Arjen Lucassen could have made. Though, this story is more Heavy Metal perhaps also by the choice of vocalists.
“Memorial For A Wish” is stunning release that jumps out of the ordinary. Andreas himself seems unstoppable, the work for a second full length has already been started and is expected spring 2014. Leaves us with plenty of time to enjoy this release first!
