Re-released album “Distort yourself” (firstly released in 2005) with several bonus-tracks of alternative rock band “Institute” available in stores since this May.
First of all, this is the solid alternative rock album with no doubts. The opener “Bulletproof skin” broke the silence with refrain “burn, baby, burn” and catching guitar riffs. The next track to be mentioned is “Information Age” combined sharp lyrics and great melody. The most heavy track is “Boom box” that leaded the drum and bass line. The truly touching and hysteric ballads “Ambulances” and “Secrets and lies” stand in the opposite of the whole album concept. The high in every senses track “Mountains” tried to reach the sky and glow. Slow-tempo track “Save the robots” is a logical “no guru no system no mantra” ending of the album.
For those who heard this album before few words about bonus tracks. The “S ST” proves that track needed to be in the original album released several years ago. The magic track “The buzz of my system” points of some system errors and brings the noize as two another not mentioned bonus tracks.
The holistic album would be highly recommend for those who’ve never heard about this one. Promise, it will not waste of your time.
