Welle: Erdball (often abbreviated as W:E) is a group from Germany often credited with being the pioneers of bitpop. The heavy use of the Commodore 64’s SID sound chip makes their sound instantly recognizable. Their sound is reminiscent of electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk. With their newest release “Computerklang Vollversion EP” the band has released a project they first introduced with the re-release of “Tanzpalast 2000” in form of a 3” CD.
“Computerklang Vollversion EP” comes with six tracks. Electronic music like we know it from Neue Deutsche Welle. The playful music is spreading joy and fun while listening. Perfect music for the dance floor as the music keeps you going at ease. The style of the music reminds you of the old Atari station or a Gameboy back in the day when we were kids. Funny and interesting lyrics, all in German, sung and spoken by a male and a female. Welle:Erdball stick to their old school style, just like we know it. Just like we love it. This EP is just a teaser for what they have to come this year. A full-length album will follow later this year. But for now, enjoy the funky tunes of “Computerklang Vollversion EP”.
Tracklist: 01. Computerklang 02. Zombies im Kaufhaus 03. Kontrollierte Welt – C64 04. Des Wahnsinns fette Beute 05. Gemeinsam einsam 06. Computerklang (female) |
