Dutch Metal formation La-Ventura founded in 2005. About two years later the band came with a debut album. After that only one EP came out until now, in 2013 the band releases a second full length album. “White Crow” is out now.
A couple years later, some line-up change and the band have taken their time to show the best of themselves with this new album. Female fronted, a label you easily connect with expectations based on the various others that popped up the last years, but fairly said most of them doesn’t even make it to a second album. The fact that they spend time and effort in the release is something that pays off. The songs are well thought, a good structure and the right length are giving it that solid base that it needs. The guitars give you a flirt with Progressive and yet it is kept in line by the vocals. Vocalist Carla has a confident sound, obviously ready to put her stamp into it, maybe in the end a bit too much, but that seems such factor of taste as it suits with the music in some way.
“White Crow” is an album that shows that the band has clear vision of what they want. That results in a release that shows a strong attitude and is convenient to listen to. Good job by these Dutch!
