Emergency Gate is a German formation that makes Melodic Death with Metalcore influences. The band is active since 1996. The band comes now with a new release: “You” is out now.
The band’s previous release was not really standing out a lot, a new album should show some progress and “You” clearly shows that. Even though the album does not really bring you anything you have not heard before there is no denying that the guys work it as a team way better. The guitars give you a bit more elaboration and also the vocals seem to be stronger than before. The band has energetic songs that invite you into their world leaving you with a yearning to see the guys do this live for you. That’s what it should do! Songs like “Back From The Grave” and “Force United” show the essence of the band, the melodics having an important part of their sound, but not letting the vocals fill in all the vehemence of it all. Drums are giving it that steady backbone that it has.
All in all, the band may not surprise you in a way that it is super new, but with the release of “You” they did a step forward and bring themselves into the attention better than before.
