Masterstroke is a Finnish formation making Heavy Metal since the year of 2002. It took the band until 2006 to come with a debut full length but anno 2013 they are releasing their fourth full length album called: “Broken”.
While listening to the music you immediately have a familiar feeling with it. Have you hear d it before, perhaps you may conclude that the guys are not bringing something that new, but also an important factor may be that the sound is simply catchy. The band created a good balance between the guitars and the vocals, having the keys just there as a backing which ensures they are not becoming too dominating. Also, the vocals are one of the elements that make this release such a success. He seems to be consistent and brings enough variance to keep you listening throughout. Don’t forget to pay attention to the riffs. Good at the end you may think that it is still some release you have heard before, it sounds like something big but you can’t put your finger on who wrote these songs then. Come back to reality, they are Masterstroke and with “Broken” they released a decent album that will find its way to the Heavy Metal fans surely.
