Machinae Supremacy is a Swedish formation that formed in 2000. They make Power Metal combined with computer tunes to create their own sound. This year the band releases their sixth full length album called: “Rise of A Digital Nation”.
The electronic parts seem to have the most stress as it seems when starting the album. The extremely catchy “All of My Angels” is opening the album and it seems hard not to fall in love with the sympathetic vocals in here. The band takes the speed and intensity a bit back with the tracks that follow and let the Metal part of their sound come a bit more forward. At the title track the band seem to have brought it all into balance so you could safely say that this track defines their sound.
The album listens easily but not all Metal listeners will find this band that great because they tend to put the guitars a bit back. Here and there they break through but it does not really come upfront as the happy tunes from computer games are coming through. You probably feel more comfortable dancing than head banging to this, but what the hell… it works and leaves you with a smile. Lovely release!
