Releasedate: 24-08-2012; Label: Spinefarm Records

The Finnish formation Bloodred Hourglass is founded in 2005. They make Death/ Thrash Metal and released a couple of EP’s before the band started working on their debut album “Lifebound” which is released right now.
At first it seems a bit hard to find the identity of this band. It sounds familiar, a strong sound but while listening a bit careful you hear some of the bands personality. Death/Thrash, Children of Bodom-like compositions worked in such a level that it surprises you to read it is the band’s debut. Some great guitar solos are included in their sound, listen to a track “Scapegoat” for example, the vehemence they bring falls into place as a perfect puzzle. Another plus is that they have a good production on the album, that creates the extra shine on the sound. If you have to say something about this release it must be that the guys can put some more effort in highlighting their identity and own sound. With “Lifebound” I can go on and on about how alike it sounds to others but in fact it makes more sense to realize that they have made an album of good quality and it only being their debut it is much likely they become one of those bands mentioned in other band’s debuts someday.
