Locrian is a trio That has been founded in 2005 in USA. They are making Experimental/Noise and they currently re-release their 2011 album “The Clearing” and combined it with some previously unreleased material for the fans to pick up.
Dark, doomy atmospheres. Drone, Ambient, Noise, there is simply much to find in this release. It therefore may take a while before you get grip of what the band is about. Obviously not the most accessible material, but there to make an impact nevertheless. Some Black Metal vocals get into it, giving it an even more obscure touch and yet your emotionally get pushed to another world while listening to this album. What comes to notice is that the band does not really work up to climaxes, it seem to go from left to right and any other direction that you have not seen before. It’s all over there, but never really comes to a point that you feel it all falling into place. You are getting lost in this maze op creepiness, the obscurity and the unknown. You better not fear that at all, otherwise the album may make you feel really uncomfortable. The album has great dark sides, which can really captivate you, but the lack of structure is somehow disturbing. If you keep on waiting for something that does not come you leave the album disappointed, which is a shame cause it is worth more than that.
