Cold in Berlin is a formation from UK. The band makes punk rock music, like back in the days that it was all hot. They are now releasing their second full length album “And Yet”.
Female vocals, giving a bit of the impression that Courtney Love gone wild are the main attraction of this release. What they tried to create is that feeling of the underground scene, the live vibes to come up alive on this release and that actually worked out. If you expect a polished, nice recorded album this will not be one you like. The quite upfront vocals may not be everyone’s taste, very often words and sentences are ended with that high screaming edge. Not recommended if you like to listen to the album a couple of times, because then it becomes a bit too overdone. Also, it pushes the attention away from the rest of the band which is a pity as the whole is already a bit unstable in the mix anyway. For a vintage-like album “And Yet” does well, but maybe it will not move too many new people to the scene. Cold in Berlin is probably a band that gets their name and fame via live shows instead.
