Rockchick Lita Ford has a interesting career, She was the lead guitarist of the band The Runaways, she released quite some solo albums but most people will know her for her hits “Kiss Me Deadly” and “ Close My Eyes Forever” featuring Ozzy Osbourne. “Living Like A Runaway” is her eighth solo album.

This album is a personal one and you can hear it from the first second. This femme fatale sings out her frustration, tells her stories throughout the songs and all have in common that they radiate a certain liberation theme. It’s being care free, no more drama and the start of something new. What is great about this release that it has that a quite modern twist to it, it does not sound like an album that could have been written in the 80’s and is released right now, but it is a relevant release that embraces a modern sound. Songs like “Love 2 Hate U” and “The Mask” are perfect examples of the strength that Lita Ford can speak out and give it a very playful twist. While the guitars are well placed in the mix a too cheesy sound is avoided, the focus on the whole track as it should be.
“Living Like A Runaway” is a release from an independent woman that found the direction she wants to go. An album that will not only attract those fans of her past, but will also hit a new generation of music fans.
