Gothic Metal formation Mirrored in Secrecy is a band from Germany. They released an EP in 2009, two years after their formation and toured quite a lot through Germany. Last year the band added a female vocalist and started working on their new release “Day of Renewal” which is out now.
First that comes to notice that the band has two good vocalists, but when the two come together they not always match as nicely as you may expect. Each individual they have their beauty and add a great deal to the sound of the band, but together they don’t highlight each other. A bit of a pity, but fair enough these moments are rare at this record. Instrumentally it are drums that stand out, great job done by Florian Guhl. The two guitarists are adding a nice melody to it all, but they tend to stay modest in their presence, no major breakouts into solo’s although they have their moments as well. Mirrored In Secrecy does not really bring something new under the sun, but with “Day of Renewal” they have an album that works well and will find their way to the fans of Gothic Metal. Also the band gives the impression that this a formation that you need to see live for the complete sensation.
