Wallace Vanborn – Lions, Liars Guns & God

Releasedate: 2012; Label: East Records
By: Sabine van Gameren

Wallace Vanborn has his roots in Belgium. Making some good old rock with that alternative edge in there to match it up with the sounds of 2012. And in this year the band come up with the album “Lions, Liars Guns & God”. It is their second full length release.

This band has self-conscience, they know what they want and confront you with it straight from the start. Throughout the release they stick with that concept of strong rock and let no time go to waste. Energetic compositions pass by, the flow is in it and it comes with passion. “The Liar”, “Cougars” and “We Are What We Hide” are tracks that come straight in your face, direct and something many will live along and identify with. In an occasional moment you have some time to retreat. But most of all you can feel the commercial meets the good old rock and that is exactly where this band will score most on. By being in between and capture a large audience from those who feel attracted to the commercial sound as well as those who enjoy seeing rockbands in obscure bars in the small towns. It feels like that Wallace Vanborn is able to make this work either way so we probably hear more of them until those last mentioned are not even an option for them anymore.
