Axel Rudi Pell started his career back in 1980. He never stopped making records so every once in a while a new album on his name sees light. This year the album “Circle of The Oath” came out.
A typical release of Axel Rudi Pell is easily recognized by a strong track list, filled with a dose of catchiness and awesome solo’s. On “Circle of The Oath” you don’t have to expect much different than right that. A little weaker spot in this release are the vocals. Not in all the tracks they come out as sparkling, clear as usually. Halfway the track list you step away from that thought, listening to a track like “Fortunes of War” making you think: THAT is how I know mr Johnny Gioeli. After that you are straight back on the track. What else to comment on an album that is the 20th release… (or did we miss some?) a steady line up for fourteen years and an immense tour list? Ah yes… Listening to an album of Axel Rudi Pell is still not boring, a confidential sound perhaps but entertaining with the various solo’s and good quality music.
