Sphere is a Polish Death metal formation. The band started in 2002 and came with a debut full length release in 2007. About 3 years later they return with a new full length “Home Herecticus” which now gets spread through Europe a little more.
Sure the guys have taken their time for this release, but you must not expect something completely experimental. Sphere is a band that enjoys the filth and rawness of Death metal and exhibit this in the twelve tracks this album has. The strength of it is in the total outcome, not a focus on something in particular. Even though they set down some nice riffs, some very solid strong structures and a raspy throat. At some times you may feel a need for some depth though, a point that it gets more brutal, more nasty and more impressive but the band keeps it quite flat. An occasional step out is made in the solo’s in which the band shows off more of themselves as individuals. Hopefully the band will built on these, for a future release, the guys have made a decent release that Death metal fans will like, but to really give themselves an own face they must go a little deeper.
