Lunocode is an Italian metal formation previously known as Anima. They now release their album “Celestial Harmonies”.
It is sad that you have to disappoint readers right away, but this album is one that was not really what they say it is. Progressive Power Metal, hmm, well an attempt to it, let’s stick with that. The Italians have failed to convince me with their skills and wondering where it goes wrong you may need to search right at the basis. The song structures are not really exciting or surprising in any way. Also the vocals are not really the best element here. Too monotone, not really playful and also a bit too upfront in the mix which makes it too dominating over the rest of the band.
Nicer parts of this album are the arrangements. There you can enjoy the work of these people a little better. The last track of the album is almost 30 minutes long and has some acoustic parts in it which actually warm the heart a little after the first four tracks.
So maybe after all this band needs to evaluate what they can do to change their sound a little more towards something that keeps the attention a bit longer.
