Sear Bliss is a Hungarian Black Metal formation that started in 1993. Through the years they came with several releases but the last one was from 2007. Now in 2012 they return with a new full length release “Eternal Recurrence”.
Sear Bliss is a band with quite their own style and with this release you immediately remember what sets them apart from the rest of it. Symphonic as it is there is space for acoustic parts also. A calm start and in general they guys never get extremely wild. The intensity comes from the compositions that are tension building as if listening to some sludge or post rock, but don’t get fooled by that as the band presents you a Black Metal story. Trumpet is maybe not the instrument you may expect in there, but that certainly gives it a little extra. Also interesting is the role of the keys, giving it a atmospheric touch that takes the stress of it.
“Eternal Recurrence” is an album exactly as you may have expected it from these guys. It goes beyond the label you may put on it and is an album that may attract a wider audience because of that. Fans of the band can buy it blindly!
