Munruthel is a solo project of Vladislav Redkin from Ukraine. He has been active with this project for a long time and did have some other members in the past as well, but on this fourth full length release called “The Dark Saga” he shows purely his own skills.
Reading the songtitles you clearly get aware of the theme in here and while giving the information that the work at some game music is the basis for this release brings you a step further in realizing why some of the sounds are so familiar to you.
The tracks are all quite calm but plenty is to be found in there. Maybe you need to be a gamer to see it all happen but there is also enough to find in your own imagination while listening to the songs. The music goes from these calm moments into more exciting and while traveling there you feel the scent of darkeness all over you. It is just that with this album you might not have the feeling of getting something new. This is a pity, because as a release it is pleasant to listen to, very accessible but there are more from this sort of releases that will bring you something really surprising.
