Venom are an English heavy metal band that formed in 1979. They quickly became legends after the release of their first albums and anno 2011 the band comes with yet another new release “Fallen Angels”.
Of course the band have gone through some changes here and there through the years but as you can hear on “Fallen Angel” they never lost touch with the raw sound that you got to know them from. It starts with an interesting intro. Drums are there to build the tension because simply every listener wants to know “Are they still relevant?” and therefore your ears are open for every detail that the album has. A grooving bass joins in and throughout the album you keep on getting the straightforward attitude of the guys. Within music and lyrics, they quite know what to say and as it always have been, the band makes their statements. Loads of songs on this release, you may want to shuffle them a bit as some are more Thrash and others more Black so whatever suits you best.
Always nice, a classic Thrash/Black album that is made in nowadays times. By the mighty Venom, no copy of what has been done before, no, simply Venom as they are. A new release with the Venom touch all over it will always be relevant.
