“Lonely Kamel” is a stoner/heavy/blues/whatever rock quartet from Oslo, Norway. “Dust Devil” is the third album of this nordic band.
As I’ve heard the first chords of “Grim Reefer” it was nothing but… blues! The sound was spinning along nice when suddenly the engine stopped, further gently weeping guitars changed to heavier basses and slower tempo. That was surprisingly true stoner rock/metal something. The next track “Evil Man” turned blues to psychedelic atmosphere. “Seventh Son” is a track for those who are not in hurry. The time is just frozen. It seemed the whole eternity extends between the notes. So you can lose the ground under you feet and go to the outer space. “The Prophet” is most difficult to understand track. There are several melodies in the tune; each is captivating in different way. More desert motifs that accurately describe the album’s title and sense of stoner genre formed the last three tracks.
“Dust Devil” is the stoner rock album in the way it should be done. The cocktail of heavy and doom metal, grunge, blues and something illegal that gets you ultimate high. What the doctor ordered (not literally, just an idiom). At least, it will not bring you dead hangover.
