Counterparts is an Hard core formation from USA. They formed in 2007 and this year they come with the album “The Current Will Carry Us”.

For fans of Comeback Kid, is mentioned on the info sheet supplied with this promo. Quite well said, as the music of this band lies close to what they make. Yet there is something about this band that holds you back a little with enthusiasm. They have quite ok song structures, the band gives us some nice riffs but it feels a bit like they hold back on it. As if there is more that they can give but hold back on it to be able to top themselves in future. That is exactly why this album may have a bittersweet taste on it. Yes, the band has good songs but it is does not sound like they gave all they had.
Also the band may have considered to bring a little more variation into the songs as they tend to sound quite alike after a while.
It’s an ok release, but there is some work for the guys ahead. The fans may like it but it simply does not make that much of a difference to say it is a record that change your musical world.
