Snow Patrol are an alternative rock band from Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland. Formed at the University of Dundee in 1994 as an indie rock band, the band is now based in Glasgow. Snow Patrol rose to national fame with their major label debut “Final Straw”, in 2003. Their next studio album “Eyes Open” (2006) and its hit single “Chasing Cars”, propelled the band to greater international fame. The album topped the UK Album Charts and was the best-selling British album of the year, selling over 6 million copies worldwide. Now their sixth album is being released, called “Fallen Empires”.
Coming with fourteen tracks the new Snow Patrol album “Fallen Empires” has a lot to offer. When pressing play the first few seconds remind of Daft Punk and their TRON soundtrack. But shortly after that you recognize Snow Patrol. A funky intro followed by the unmistakable style of Snow Patrol is only the beginning. Fast and slow tracks combined with great lyrics and catchy tunes make this album special. Many of the songs are so catchy they are most likely to get stuck in your head easily. Some songs are more rock, some are more pop, but all are close to the heart. All songs are very thoughtful, some are very slow and go deep instantly. “Fallen Empires” is a wonderful album that will melt your heart. Enjoy their newest release and feel the warmth Snow Patrol sends you along with it as days grow colder.
