Chickenfoot is an american rock band full of famous and fabulous members (Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony of “Van Halen” as vocalist and bass player respectively, solo artist Joe Satriani on guitar and “Red Hot Chili Peppers” drummer Chad Smith). The band was formed in 2008 and released their self-titled debut album the year later. The second studio album titled “III” (there no mistake – numerology is a hard science). The meaning of that “III” number is somewhere between “peace” sign and the chicken footprint. If you doubt than look at the album cover.
This album sounds quite raw that’s why you don’t even guess of star completed line-up whose music brought up a several generations. So, back to the future! Every song has its own little history that has written in a few words not so far from “I got a strong feeling”. In addition to hand-clapping, guitar arpeggios and “hard-and-heavy” voice lyrics work successful for “girlies’ hearts” and “metalheads”. Special words about three tracks. “Come closer” melody is not only about upward and downward guitar arpeggios that a good job of piano player as well. Crazy guitars, spoken words and screaming in “There and half letters” make this track full of hopeless emotions. And sure, there is a place for fun. “Big Foot” has been shot in a hilarious manner and described one day of the big rooster’s life.
Perhaps, this album is different devil but the same hell. Recommend only for true fans.
