Profane Omen – Inherit The Void

Releasedate: 30-09-2011; Label: Spinefarm
By: Sabine van Gameren

The Finnish formation Profane Omen makes Melodic Metal and exists since 1999. Even though that are quite some years the band comes now with their second full length “Inherit The Void” for the international market.

Profane Omen is a band that many metal fans must have stumbled upon some when but never made it as big as they could have. This album may changes that, the band has taken their time to create these songs carefully, which results in a collection of good compositions that are not too standard. Brings in the excitement that is needed. Jules Näveri brings in the vocals and he does this quite well. A bit of a different vocal styles used and this combined with the solid guitars behind him that occasionally step out in a solo, which is maybe done a bit cheesy, but never too ego-tripping.
“Inherit The Void” is a solid release, having tracks that are all in line, but not one that really jumps out. The album therefore ends right in time, much more would have been too much. A little remark to make is that this album got already released in 2009 when the band also appeared on the Tuska festival. It is now available in other countries as well, while the band makes up for the release of a third full length release.
